A minimum of 2 coats of clear sealer application is essential for decorative concrete sealing on stamped concrete and exposed aggregate concrete. For previously unsealed interlock or paving stones, we recommend applying 3 coats for optimal protection.
We faced a challenge while rejuvenating this concrete driveway, which required complete recoloring with a colored sealer to restore its original appearance from installation. Unfortunately, years of poor-quality sealing from various companies had damaged the concrete driveway. Our attempts to strip the old sealer were complicated by the concrete 'etching.' We aimed to preserve the homeowner's beautiful swirl finish, so we opted for Plan B. The homeowner was ecstatic with the results! We finished the project with multiple coats of a non-slip concrete sealer to enhance safety and durability.

We strongly advise homeowners not to seal natural stone if it's not necessary. Regular acrylic concrete sealing compounds should NEVER be used on natural stone, because it is not porous.

Sometimes, a homeowner or company applies a water-based latex sealer that will turn white & flaky. Sometimes, a homeowner or company sealed a wet concrete surface.
Sealing Concrete is a tricky process that should not be taken lightly. The wrong conditions/sealer might require stripping via soft media blasting, or extreme pressure cleaning over 7500 PSI or Chemical stripping.
